Travel Days

The Stockbridge MS Cross Country team has been on the road to all their recent meets which has made for some late nights. We had our three jamboree races at Quincy, Union City, and last night finished our last jamboree race at Springport. The jamboree races were a bit harder for the middle schoolers due to the long bus rides and the later start times, but they were able to do their best and compete with the other schools.

We competed at the Jr Greater Lansing Cross Country Championship in Dewitt on Monday 10/14. It was their first really cool and breezy weather day with very little sun, this seemed to make the runners feel down and nervous in the beginning but it didn’t last long. After getting team pictures and getting all the jitters out, the runners were ready to start their races. At the starting line, our team plus over 30 others finished their run outs, did their team chants, and got to the line.

We had some amazing new personal records at this race which was an amazing feeling! It truly felt like a fall cross country day! Our final race of the season is on October 22nd for Zone 5 Regionals that we are hosting at the Stockbridge Jr/Sr High School.
