Onsted Meet Update

On 9/18 the Stockbridge Middle School Cross Country Team traveled to Onsted for their third meet of the season. This was our longest bus commute of the season so far, and we had high temps for the races. Both the boys and girls teams all finished and had some of their best races yet. Our theme today was “I am Speed,” featuring Disney Cars themed tattoos to inspire us to feel our inner speed in the heat of a race.

Carter Powers led for the boys and placed 24th (15:12) and earned a medal. Following C.Powers was Owen Peckham who placed 30th (15:46) and Destin Chapman who placed 33rd (16:35, PR) giving them both a medal.

Three boys also got a new personal record. Hugh Esser got a new time of 18:58 taking off 2 WHOLE minutes and 7 seconds off his previous PR. Lucas Bergman followed right in after him with a new record time of 19:25 taking off another 2 WHOLE minutes and 4 seconds off his previous PR. Lastly, Jacob Mayville knocked off 1 minute and 17 second from his previous PR getting a time of 19:45. All the boys competed in the race today with strength.

The girls brought in a lot of hardware at this race with 5 of the girls receiving medals. Lucy Chapman led for the girls and placed 8th (15:04). Following L.Chapman was Isabella Pratt who placed 12th (16:59), Kylie Johnston who placed 13th (17:00), Emme Gancer who placed 26th (19:04, PR), and Alexis Friddle who placed 36th (22:23). All of the girls worked hard and finished strong for this race.
