The JV Football Team opened their 2024 Campaign with a 20-0 win over the host Blackhawks.

The Panther defense stood tall on Leslie's opening possession and forced a quick punt by the Blackhawks.

A few plays later the Panthers were on the board when QB Elijah Muzzin hit WR Cam Stratton for a 40-yard strike and the team's first points of the season.  The conversion was Muzzin to RB Collin Pilch and the lead was 8-0.

Late in the second quarter, the Panthers pinned Leslie deep in their territory on the 32-yard punt of Muzzin.  The defense was again stout and forced a QB fumble by Stratton that set the Panthers up at the 1-yard line.  The team would punch it in and take a 14-0 lead into the half.

The second half opened with a BANG when Reid Johnson took the kickoff to the ENDZONE behind some great blocking.  The 77-yard scamper to pay dirt gave the team a 20-0 lead.  

Stockbridge continued to control the pace of the game but were unable to find the end zone again on the evening.  

The shutout was spearheaded by a swarming defense led by linebackers Collin Pilch, Bradley White, Andrew Ackberg, and Stratton.  Muzzin and Aiden Bradley ensured Leslie couldn't get their air game going.

Both the offensive and defensive lines played very well in their 1st outing of the season.

The team opens league play next Thursday when they host Union City at 6:30.
